Clackamas County Sheriff's Office will hold a no-questions-asked event in the Public Safety Training Center parking lot

Want to safely dispose of unwanted, unused prescription drugs?

The Clackamas County Sheriff's Office will hold a no-questions-asked Prescription Drug Take-Back from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24, in the Public Safety Training Center parking lot, at 12700 S.E. 82nd Ave., Clackamas.

Sheriff's Office deputies will be on hand to accept unwanted medications at the driver's-side door.

Sgt. Marcus Mendoza said prescription medications are among the most commonly abused drugs, so it is important to dispose of them safely after they are no longer needed by the patient. Flushing pharmaceuticals down the toilet can be dangerous to both the community and local wildlife, so take-back programs are the best option for disposing of unused prescription drugs, Mendoza added.
