Gladstone School District's new Finance Director Rachel Lopez Hopper started in the role on Jan. 4, replacing Samantha Nelson who left the district for a job with the McMinnville School District.
Previously, Lopez Hopper served as chief financial and operations officer for the Reynolds School District for eight years. She also brings experience from both the Ontario School District and the city of Ontario, where she served as director of finance.
"I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to join an amazing team with strong leadership and passionate staff," Lopez Hopper said. "I have been so impressed by all of the work happening in Gladstone, and I am excited to support students and staff in meeting the goals of the district."
Lopez Hopper holds a bachelor's degree from Northwest Nazarene University and is now pursuing her master's degree in business administration from Western Governors University, an online school founded in 1997.
"We are excited to have Rachel join our team," said Gladstone Superintendent Bob Stewart. "She comes to the Gladstone School District with many successful years of experience, and she was the top selection from an outstanding field of applicants."
