"We can still use some help with electrical and wiring inside the building, lighting inside the building, protective nets and screening, and artificial turf to cover the floor,” Lord says. "But we're almost there."

When complete, the $440,000 hitting facility will be one of the largest in the state, with four hitting tunnels and an 80x80-square-foot space for indoor practice and drills.

Lord says that businesses and individuals who still wish to donate materials, labor or money to complete the project may do so by contacting him at 503-880-5377.
