The Cavaliers used three third-quarter touchdown passes to break open Friday's season opener against Summit of Bend

Clackamas quarterback Mitchell Modjeski completed 23 of 30 passes for 311 yards and four touchdowns as the Cavaliers rolled to a 49-22 season-opening win Friday over the Summit Storm at Clackamas High School.

Cole Turner led Clackamas with a career-high nine catches including touchdown receptions of 3 and 67 yards, and Nick Vaughn had 16 carries for a game-high 132 yards and on TD for the Cavaliers.

Leading 21-7 at halftime, Clackamas broke the game open in the third quarter when Modjeski tossed touchdown passes of 67 yards to Turner, 16 yards to Matthew Dalzell, and 2 yards to Jake Bushman.

Braelen Bettles and James Millspaugh added touchdown runs for the Cavaliers, who racked up 480 yards of total offense.

The game was originally scheduled to be played in Bend but was moved to Clackamas because of wildfires burning in Central Oregon and concerns over air quality in the Bend area.

The Cavaliers are back home this week to face Lincoln at 7 p.m.
