The Lakers scored three touchdowns in the first quarter and four in the second quarter to take a 49-0 halftime lead Friday

Lake Oswego quarterback Jackson Laurent completed 13 of 17 passes for 229 yards and three touchdowns, pacing the top-ranked Lakers to a 49-14 victory over visiting Oregon City in Friday's second round of the OSAA Class 6A football playoffs at Lake Oswego High School.

Keenan DeRaeve led Lake Oswego's ground attack with a game-high 133 yards rushing and scored on runs of 14 and 68 yards to help lift the Lakers (10-1) into Friday's quarterfinals to face Central Catholic (7-4).

Oregon City quarterback Colby Iverson scored on a 1-yard run and threw a 7-yard touchdown pass to Jahleel Heath for the Pioneers (5-6), who lost in the second round of the playoffs for the second season in a row.

The Lakers landed an early knockout punch, scoring three touchdowns in the first quarter and four more in the second quarter to take a 49-0 halftime lead.

Laurent opened the scoring with a 32-yard touchdown pass to Thomas Dukart, and then came back with a 22-yard TD pass to George O'Brien and a 36-yard scoring strike to Joe Hutson.

The Lakers defense also contributed to the scoring when Marshall McGuire picked up an Oregon City fumble and returned it 55 yards for a touchdown that pushed the lead to 49-0.

Iverson completed 8 of 19 passes for 116 yards for Oregon City, while Hunter Manassero led the Pioneers' ground game with seven carries for 59 yards.

Oregon City's Zakayas Dennis-Lee, who sat out the Pioneers' playoff opener against Grants Pass with a foot injury, returned to the lineup and had 10 carries for 58 yards in the final game of his high school career.

On the season, Dennis-Lee finished with 138 carries for 1,307 yards and 18 touchdowns. He also caught 11 passes for 163 yards and two touchdowns and he had two kickoff returns for touchdowns.

Iverson, who took over as the starting quarterback after transferring from West Linn, completed 125 of 243 passes for 1,749 yards with seven interceptions and 19 touchdowns. He rushed for additional 705 yards on 158 carries with nine touchdowns.
