A late invite to the PIL Showcase after the Benson girls basketball team dropped out, La Salle Prep came in and picked up a win over a solid Jefferson squad on Saturday.

The Falcons, who have been down due to COVID issues, played tough defense inside and made the Demos miss plenty of shots in the 49-39 win.

Mia Skoro led the way with 21 points as she knocked down plenty of free throws in the final frame to seal the win after the Falcons jumped out to a big lead early and never gave it back.

Abrianna Lawrence had 21 points to lead the way for Jefferson, who's fourth quarter comeback came within seven points but stalled out after.

Ella Wedin was a force in the paint with 11 points and 14 rebounds to help take away second chances from the Demos.

La Salle Prep is now 4-3 on the season in Class 5A while Jefferson falls to 5-5.
