The Cavaliers and Hawks, competing in the Mt. Hood Conference district tournament at Glendoveer Golf Course in Portland on Tuesday, May 3, showed they were up to the challenge. Clackamas finished fourth in the event with a score of 331 to earn a berth in the upcoming regional tournament, while Nelson freshman Ben Long, junior Jakob Stepaniak and freshman Oskar Stepaniak qualified for regionals as individuals.

"It was a grind out there, (but) the rest of our team fought hard today and had some good scores," said Clackamas senior Alex Lasko, who shot a 7-over-par 80 to finish fifth overall. "I'm excited to get going at regionals next week. We would love to qualify for state as a team."

"I'm extremely happy with our team's overall performance because we were able to set the team's lowest-ever total score, as well as having three of our players qualify as individuals for regionals," said Jakob Stepaniak, who finished 13th overall with an 11-over-par 84.

The complete team scoring included: Central Catholic 324, Barlow 327, David Douglas 329, Clackamas 331, Nelson 350, Sandy 390, Gresham inc.
