Yvonne's, 818 Lounge to stay closed in downtown Oregon City
Many of you have heard the rumors, and it is with great sadness that I take to this platform to confirm them.
Yvonne's and 818 Lounge will remain permanently closed.
For the past six years (yes, it's really been six!), we have strived to create a safe place for people of all ages, races and beliefs to come together and share one of the most fundamentally important things in life, a good meal.
We have celebrated birthdays with you, we have mourned loved ones with you, we have fed your children and cured your hangovers. We have loved you, as you have loved us.
When we started building Yvonne's in 2014, I was a 22-year-old cook with a dream. I never imagined this restaurant could become something as amazing as it has been. With this restaurant, we found a family. Friends. A community.
Oregon City opened their arms to us, and for that we will be eternally grateful.
The decision to close has been one of the most difficult decisions we have ever had to make.
These times are challenging for all involved and the restaurant world is fraught with uncertainty. Those able to stay open face a complex challenge going forward. We hope with all our hearts that they will succeed, and that you, you beautiful people, will support them as best that you can.
We are so sorry that it has ended like this. No last meal. No goodbye hugs. No fanfare, or ceremony. We hope you know how much we will miss you, and that if it could be different it would be.
To stay in touch (reach out to our wonderful staff and any other miscellaneous inquiries) our email will stay active
We encourage you to share memories here on our Facebook page as we would love to be able to say goodbye to you, even if only virtually.
Thank you again from the bottom of our hearts for all the years of kindness, laughter and joy.
With so much love, Yvonne Haney, owner of Yvonne's and 818 Lounge
P.S. To our staff, our wonderful staff. Our beautiful staff. Our kind, sweet, intelligent, loyal, amazing staff, both past and present. I hope this goes without saying, but you all have changed my life. I have never before had the honor to work with a team of people as incredible as you. You are, and will always be my family and I love you from the bottom of my heart.
