Frank O'Donnell gets vote of planning commissioner
It's a privilege to be able to write this brief letter in support of Frank O'Donnell.
I won't delve deep into his accomplishments as those have already been covered well by his colleagues. I just want to talk a bit about who Frank is and what he stands for. I met Frank around two years ago, around the time I was sworn in as a planning commissioner for Oregon City. Frank has always treated me fairly and often offers supportive comments. Frank always treats people like they matter and sincerely cares about people's concerns. More often than not, people come to City Hall because they are upset. Frank always takes these concerns to heart, and will do everything is his power to see if the city can in some way improve the situation. Caring about the citizens is what being a leader is about. Being the voice of the people and considering their concerns and best interests even if they don't align with our own.
Frank can be compassionate, but Frank can also battle wits with the best. I remember when the Forest Edge apartments consultants were in a meeting and tried to dazzle the commission with flow rates and draw down figures of the dewatering wells they had installed. Frank, in his unwavering quest for public safety said, "If you want to talk numbers, we can talk numbers" and wasn't backing down on making sure their safety factor was high enough. Frank has an engineering background and can go toe to toe even with the most knowledgeable representatives. He's always looking out for us and our safety and the decision to show support for him wasn't a difficult one. Please reelect Frank O'Donnell for City Commission.
