PMG PHOTO: SAM STITES - More than 500 people lined the hill in Milwaukie's Riverfront Park on June 9 for a sit-in supporting the Black Lives Matter movement.It is very rare when a historian can see that a year in the present will have impact for the rest of its residents' lives. This year, 2020, may be one of the greatest years Milwaukie has ever had. It created structures, gatherings and people that will be remembered for at least the next 100 years or more.

December: Construction at the new Milwaukie High School building will almost be completed

Oh yeah, don't forget COVID-19, masks, Zoom meetings, family closeness and missing friends, plus a presidential election and waiting for this year to end. For us historians and Milwaukians, we will remember this year fondly for the beauty and connection we created for the future.
