Former Oregon City mayor: Larry Didway leaves schools stronger
Oregon City has been privileged indeed to have our school district led for 10 years by one of Oregon's outstanding school superintendents, Larry Didway. His integrity, knowledge and leadership have helped our schools become stronger, more inclusive and higher-performing.
The amazingly successful bond campaign that upgraded our school facilities and built new ones went smoothly under Larry's focused leadership. As a former Oregon City mayor, I always valued the strong partnership with the school district and with a superintendent able to expertly balance the sometimes-competing demands of the community, students and staff.
Congratulations to the Clackamas ESD for recognizing Larry's leadership and hiring the best. It will be Oregon City's loss, but fortunately Larry will be leaving our school district stronger and more resilient. Leadership matters. Thank you to Larry for giving his heart and soul to the education needs of our community.
