Happy Valley resident: It's time to replace our Blue Dog CD5 rep
Since redrawing Oregon's congressional districts, Democrats have a promising new option to replace Blue Dog conservative Rep. Kurt Schrader in Congressional District 5. I'm excited and hopeful as Jamie McLeod-Skinner's campaign gains momentum with her focus on the needs of working-class and middle-class households and tackling the climate crisis. Unlike Schrader, Jamie believes in campaign finance reform to make sure the people have a voice. She demonstrates her ethics by refusing all corporate PAC money.
She's a former union member from a working-class household, who has owned a small business, practiced law, served as an emergency response coordinator — and as a local City Council member for more than a decade.
Jamie has studied regional planning at Cornell University and government at Harvard University. She brings a deep understanding of how we can strengthen our democracy and lift America out of its crises through sound progressive policies.
Jamie McLeod-Skinner has earned an impressive list of endorsers, including the Democratic Parties of Clackamas, Marion, Deschutes and Linn Counties, U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Warren and former Gov. Barbara Roberts.
