CCSO investigating threat on Clackamas High School bathroom wall
Local officials are investigating a threat written on a Clackamas High School bathroom wall.
CHS's evening custodian reported Feb. 14 finding a "message that was threatening in nature" written on a boys' bathroom wall. The incident was reported to the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office.
Police presence was requested on campus for Feb. 15. CCSO School Resource Officer Jim Keen was reportedly investigating the incident on Feb. 15, but CCSO officials said they could not release any additional information about the ongoing investigation.
"We take these issues very seriously," CHS Principal Tammy O'Neill wrote in an email to parents. "We are in the process of reviewing video footage and the school staff has been notified."
At the time of the email on the evening of Feb. 14, O'Neill wrote that she had not heard any other rumors or received any information that would validate a threat.
"We have done a sweep of the school and have not seen anything out of the ordinary," she wrote. "We want to continue to encourage all students to immediately report anything they see or hear that causes concern for student safety to a staff member. We are grateful for our partnership with the Clackamas County Sheriff's Department."
