At the Estacada American Legion Carl Douglas Post meeting on Thursday, April 27, several members received certificates of appreciation during the post awards ceremony. Doug Jamieson was honored for recruiting new post members and post revitalization, William "Bull Dog" Sump Sr. was honored for recruiting new post members, Terry Brown was honored for post revitalization, Flynn Phillips was honored for district revitalization, Bill Rosansky was honored for district revitalization and Jim Beltramo was honored for leadership.

Community college will host creative writing conference

Various facets of creative writing will be explored at Clackamas Community College's "Compose" conference, hosted by the school's English department. The event will feature a series of workshops on fiction, comics, creative non fiction, publishing and other topics. Featured writers, editors and publishers at the event will include Rene Denfeld, Jay Ponteri, Diana Schutz, Daneen Bergland, Jeff Knorr and Claire Willett.

Estacada Uncorked calls for artisanal food entries

Residents of Clackamas County who create their own artisanal food products are invited to have their creations featured at the annual Estacada Uncorked event, scheduled for Saturday, June 24.

Potential products include syrups, spice rubs, granola, chocolate, jams or jellies.

County seeks applicants for Extension, 4-H committee

Clackamas County leaders are seeking applicants for four open positions on the Extension and 4-H Budget Committee. The group meets annually in May to prepare for an annual public hearing to discuss property tax funding for local Oregon State University Extension and 4-H programs in Clackamas County.

The position is open to anyone residing within the district's boundaries, which is all of Clackamas County excluding Johnson City. The application deadline is Friday, May 5. For more information, contact OSU Extension Regional Administrator Mike Bondi at 503-705-2434.
