RIOT cheer and dance team hosts holiday-themed fundraiser at Estacada High School

The Estacada High School Riot cheer and dance team is inviting people to support their efforts while stepping into a winter wonderland.

The team will host a holiday bazaar from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. Nov. 26, at Estacada High School, 355 N.E. Sixth Ave. Admission to the event is free.

The bazaar will feature local vendors, a silent auction, a bake sale, photos with Santa and Christmas trees.

"We've had traditional fundraisers, but we want to something that can benefit the community as well," said Chelsea Blackmon, head coach of the EHS cheer and dance team. "We can raise funds, and the community gets something as well."

During the event, the 14 members of the dance and cheer team will be dressed up as elves and ready to help event attendees.

"You'll be able to spot them pretty easily," Blackmon said.

Christmas trees will be for sale in front of the high school. The majority of the event will take place inside the school's commons. Vendors will sell Christmas decorations, children's clothes, jewelry, skin care products, Harry Potter-themed accessories, Lipsense, Lularue and Scentsy products.

Photos with Santa Claus will be available for $7 per session, and Mrs. Claus is also rumored to make an appearance.

"We tried to have a variety (of items)," Blackmon said, noting that gift wrapping will also be available.

The cheer and dance team will use proceeds from the event to purchase costumes and uniforms for their season.

Blackmon is excited to engage with the Estacada community at the bazaar.

"We're excited to have the community involved," Blackmon said. "Hopefully they love the event and we can have it for years to come."
