Farmers market grows new season
Leaders at the Estacada Farmers Market are gearing up for their 2018 season.
This year, the Farmers Market opens at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 12, outside of Wade Creek House Antiques, 664 N.W. Wade St. The market runs every Saturday through the end of September.
Items available at this year's market include plant starts, flowers, crafts and products from bees and goats. Specialty produce includes purple peppers, and handmade craft items include custom coffee cups.
"We've got a nice variety. It's going to be a good year," said Tonya Buus, secretary of the market.
Several times a month, the sounds of local bands will fill the atmosphere as attendees peruse all that the market has to offer.
Children's yoga is a new feature of the market.
Buus encourages loyal customers and newcomers to stop by the market this season.
"It's fantastic to see and meet our farmers," she said, noting that she appreciates the sense of community the market facilitates. "You can come every single week and find something different."
