Approximately three homes will be built each month at the housing development along Eagle Creek road

ESTACADA NEWS PHOTO: EMILY LINDSTRAND - The Campanella Estates housing development near Southeast Eagle Creek Road and Northwest Tenth Avenue will feature 316 homes built over the next decade.

Construction at the Campanella Estates housing development is underway.

The development, located near the intersection of Southeast Eagle Creek Road and Northwest Tenth Avenue, will cover 71.44 acres and consist of 316 homes built over the course of the next 10 years. Campanella Estates will also consist of an 8-acre park. Construction on the project began in late April.

The houses will range in size from 1,260 square feet to 2,072 square feet. There are six floor plans for houses, and four consist of one level and two consist of two levels.

Chris Kincaid of Pahlisch Homes, the site's developer, said the community will offer affordable housing for many people, ranging from retirees to young families searching for their first home.

"With the single level homes, we see a great place for retirees," he said. "The two story homes are more for the younger families."

Kincaid estimated that approximately three homes will be built each month. There are four houses under construction at the development, and the first residents are expected to move into their homes in July.

Community members will be invited to tour a completed model house from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, July 14.

Kincaid predicted many people would be drawn

to Campanella Estates' location.

"A lot of people are growing weary of the bustling city, and for a quick commute you can have that small town charm," he added.
