Anniversary event for state park scheduled

The 50th anniversary celebration for Milo McIver State Park will start at 5:30 p.m. Sunday, July 29. The free festivities will include guest speakers, historical displays and the unveiling of the park's new viewpoint. At 7 p.m. there will be a concert featuring classical pianist Hunter Noack. Concert attendees should bring a blanket or lawn chair. Milo McIver State Park is at 24101 S. Entrance Road.

County seeks members for aging services group

Three members are sought for the Clackamas County Aging Services Council. The group advises county agencies on issues that impact seniors and people who are disabled and help evaluate aging related programs.

The group meets from 9:30 a.m. to noon the second Monday of each month, excluding July and August. The application deadline is Thursday, Aug. 9. County grants available for nonprofit groups

Clackamas County Commissioners will award $300,000 in grants to local organizations that serve seniors, veterans, people with insecure housing, families of cancer-stricken children, at-risk youths, developmentally disabled and many other people.

Preference will be given to applicants in the county's equity pilot areas, which include Estacada, Canby and Milwaukie. Applications will be accepted through 5 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 15. For additional information, visit www.clackamas.us/bcc/smallgrants.html.

Event benefits college wrestling team

The Clackamas Community College Foundation will host its seventh annual crab feed in September. The dinner includes shrimp cocktails, smoked salmon and all-you-can-eat crab. Funds raised during the evening will be used to purchase gear for the college's wrestling team and to fund the group's trip to the national championships.

The crab feed is scheduled from 5-10 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 29, in the Gregory Forum at the school's campus, 19600 Molalla Ave., Oregon City. Cost is $50 per person or $400 for a table of eight.
