CONTRIBUTED PHOTO - The upcoming Springwater Community Fair will feature animals, along with many other elements.

The Springwater Community Fair will feature everything from t-shirt tie dying and games for children to a musical jam session and an opportunity to drop Estacada School District Superintendent Ryan Carpenter in a dunk tank.

The fair is scheduled from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 15, at the Springwater Grange, 24591 Wallens Road.

With a theme of "Grow it, Sew it, Show It," event organizers are also encouraging attendees to show off their own talents and bring homegrown produce, canned items, craft, photos and more for exhibition.

"It's like an old-time fair," said Susan Wagner, a member of the Springwater Grange. "It's very family oriented."

The afternoon will feature musicians Wiley Howell, Kathleen Souders and Jim Rosen, and attendees are encourage to join in with their own instruments.

"The more company, the better," Wagner said.

There will also be a cake walk, pie eating contest, animals, demonstrations and more activities. Along with Carpenter, Clackamas County Commissioner Ken Humberston will also be in attendance.

Admission to the event is free, and food will be available for purchase. Tie dying shirts is $5 with a shirt from the grange or $3 if you bring your own. Dunk tank fees are $1 for three balls.
