Town comes together for annual activities in honor of Veterans Day on Sunday, Nov. 11

Estacada recently spent a day honoring those who served in the armed forces.

On Veterans Day, Sunday, Nov. 11, events included the American Legion Estacada Carl Douglas Post 74's pancake breakfast at Odd Fellows Hall, followed by a parade and ceremony organized by the Estacada Area Support Our Troops Foundation. Led by Commander of the Fourth Air Force and 1979 Estacada High School graduate Randall Ogden, parade participants included many community groups including the Estacada RIOT Cheer and Dance Team, the American Legion Carl Douglas Post, Yo Treats Frozen Yogurt and local Boy Scouts.

The following ceremony at the Estacada Veterans Memorial included speeches by Ogden; EASOTF members Dennis Dahrens, Rita Perry and John Nieder; and Flynn Philips of the American Legion Carl Douglas Post, as well as a reading of the recently-added names on the memorial honoring veterans and first responders and a fly-over with a C-17 Globemaster.
