EVENTS

Dinner and bazaar

Eagle Creek Presbyterian Church will hold a ham dinner from 3-7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 16, at 29455 S.E. Burnett Road. Dinner is $8 for adults and $4 for children 12 and younger. A bazaar will be held on Friday and continue from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Nov. 17.

High school play

Estacada High School drama students will present "Newsies" at 7 p.m. Nov. 15 and 16, and 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. Nov. 17. Tickets are $8 for adults, $6 for students and seniors and $4 for children 12 and younger. Shows are at the Estacada Auditorium, 500 N.E. Main St.

SAFACT fundraiser

From 4-9 p.m. Monday, Nov. 19, a portion of proceeds at Yo Treats Frozen Yogurt, 401 S.E. Main St., will be donated to the Estacada Class of 2019's SAFACT party. SAFACT is a nonprofit organization led by local parents to encourage a drug and alcohol free graduation event.

Small Business Saturday

The Chamber of Commerce will coordinate a Small Business Saturday event on Saturday, Nov. 24. There will be a scavenger hunt in downtown Estacada, along with prizes and drawings. There will also be pop-up businesses at City Hall, 475 S.E. Main St.

Christmas Tree Lighting

The city's annual Chrstmas tree lighting ceremony is scheduled for 5-7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30, outside of City Hall, 475 S.E. Main St. There will be free hot chocolate, horse-drawn wagon rides, live music and an appearance from Santa Claus. The tree will be lit at 6 p.m.

Thanksgiving dinner

Several local churches will host a Thanksgiving free dinner at the Estacada Community Center, 200 S.W. Club house Drive. The gathering is scheduled for 2-5 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 22.

Christmas Festival

of the Choirs

The 25th annual Christmas Festival of the Choirs is scheduled for 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, at the Estacada Auditorium, 500 N.E. Main St. Singers and choir groups come from local churches and schools. One of the choirs is comprised of local singers who perform selections from Handel's "The Messiah" and is seeking additional singers. Rehearsals will begin at 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, at Estacada First Baptist Church, 29101 S.E. Eagle Creek Road. All vocal ranges are welcome. Spanish Conversation Class

There are free Spanish conversation classes from 6-7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 19, and Monday, Nov. 26, at Estacada Assembly of God Church, 478 Wade St. No books, no tests and walk-ins are welcome.

Yoga Classes

Beginning Vinyasa and Hatha yoga classes are held at 2:30 p.m. Mondays and 7 p.m. Tuesdays at the Viola Community Club, 22364 S. Redland Road. Classes are suited for all skill levels. The cost is $5 per class.

Quilt Club

The Skip-a-Week club meets from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesdays at the Garfield Grange, 33460 S.E. Divers Road. For information, call 503-630-4669.

Spinning Group

The Estacada spinning and fiber arts group meets from 2:30-4:30 p.m. Fridays at Betty Veveiros CPA, 309 S.W. Highway 224.

Texas Hold'em Poker

A free Texas Hold'em poker game is from 7-9 p.m. every Thursday at the Country Restaurant, 341 Main St. Another game of mad poker is at 7 p.m. Mondays at the Cazadero Inn, 352 S.W. Highway 224. Prizes are included.

Food Bank

The Estacada Area Food Bank is open from 10-11:45 a.m. and 12:30-3:45 p.m. Tuesdays and Fridays. Food is available monthly to community members in Estacada, Eagle Creek, Colton, Carver and Barton who meet income requirements. To join the all-volunteer organization or to get food, call 503-630-2888 or stop by the Food Bank at 272 Broadway St.

Me and My Preschool Storytime and Playgroup

Scheduled from 10:30 a.m. to noon on Fridays, this playgroup features stories, songs, crafts and a healthy snack. The focus is on structured play and kindergarten readiness. Siblings are welcome.

Music and Movement Storytime with Ms. Deborah

Scheduled from 11-11:45 a.m. Tuesdays, this storytime uses music and movement to help children develop early literacy skills.

Girls Who Code club

The group, open to girls in grades 6-12, will meet from 3:30-5:30 p.m. the first and third Thursdays of the month.

Ms. Laurie's A-Z Storytime

This storytime event is scheduled from 11 a.m. to noon on Wednesdays.

SUPPORT GROUPS

Alcoholics Anonymous

An Alcoholics Anonymous group meets from 7-8 p.m. every Thursday at the Assembly of God Church, 478 N.W. Wade St. Another AA group meets from 7-8:30 p.m. Mondays and Fridays at Saint Aloysius Hall, 297 N.W. Broadway St. This group also holds a speaker's meeting on the first Friday of the month.

Narcotics Anonymous

A Narcotics Anonymous group meets at 7 p.m. Wednesdays at 295 N.W. Wade St. Call 503-290-4507 for more information.

Grief share

The Grief Share group is there for people who have lost a close friend or loved one, helping to turn mourning into acceptance and to remind them of the joy that remains in life. Grief Share groups meet from 2-4 p.m. and 6:30-8:30 p.m. Mondays at Clackamas Valley Baptist Church, 29275 S.E. Eagle Creek Road. The groups do not meet on holidays.

PUBLIC MEETINGS

City Council

The Estacada City Council will meet at 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 26, at City Hall, 475 S.E. Main St. Call 503-630-8270.

School Board

The Estacada School Board will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 12, in the Estacada High School Choir Room, 355 N.E. Sixth Ave.

Chamber Lunch

The next Estacada Chamber of Commerce leadership luncheon is scheduled from 11:45 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 16, at Estacada City Hall, 475 S.E. Main St. The Clackamas County Sheriff's Office will present a security threat awareness training program. Lunch from the Eagle Creek Saloon will also be available. Those interested should RSVP to the Chamber at 503-630-3483.

Fire District

The Estacada Rural Fire District Board of Directors will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 15, at 261 S.E. Jeremy Loveless Ave.

Cemetery District

The Estacada Cemetery District meets at 4 p.m. the first Thursday of each month at City Hall, 475 S.E. Main St. The next meeting is scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 6.

COMMUNITY CENTER

Volunteer opportunities

The center needs volunteers for many different jobs, including Meals on Wheels drivers, drivers to medical appointments, kitchen and dining room help, answering phones and greeting visitors, and yard work. Call 503-630-7454 for more information on how to volunteer.

Weekday lunches and games

Lunch is served in the center's dining room for all ages at noon on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, with a full salad bar on Tuesdays and Fridays. Donations are suggested for seniors; lunch is $4 for those under age 60. Chicken foot dominoes follows Monday and Thursday lunches. Bingo follows lunch on Tuesday and Friday. Dinner, Music and Dancing

The center hosts an evening of dinner, music and dancing on the first and third Saturdays of the month, with live music from the Classic Country Connections Band. The cost is $8 for dinner, dancing and dessert, $4 for dessert and music or $3 for music.

Free breakfast

Estacada Community Outreach will host a free breakfast from 8-11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 17 at the center. All are welcome.
