Library will host holiday gathering
An upcoming gathering at the Estacada Public Library will share holiday cheer with attendees.
The annual Cider in the Stacks event is scheduled for 1-3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 15. Organized by the Friends of the Estacada Public Library, the tradition will feature warm apple cider, cookies and the Estacada High School Choir.
One of the goals of Cider in the Stacks is to allow people to learn more about the library in a festive environment.
"People can talk about library happenings with the Friends (of the Library) and you've got this great musical group in the background," said David Bugni, a member of the Friends of the Estacada Public Library. "It's great to reconnect with people that want to stop by and chat about what's happening with the library, and the library staff can answer questions."
Bugni estimated that between 20-50 people attend the event each year.
"Usually people come to the library as part of their normal practice, and they'll stop by and chat and take advantage of the cider and cookies. Some make a point to stop by at that time," he said.
He added that the high school choir is a fun element of the event.
"They're such a marvelous choir. They sound great," he said. "It's fun to listen to Christmas songs."
He encouraged anyone interested in Cider in the Stacks to stop by the library.
"(The best part is) being able to stop and chat over cider and cookies," he said. "If you'd like to learn more about the library, it's a great time to talk to people who use the library quite a bit."
