Students build Christmas creations
Young architects at River Mill Elementary School recently put their skills to the test during what could become a new holiday tradition.
Students worked with their families to create gingerbread houses that were then on display in the school library. Entries ranged from large to small and featured everything from traditional holiday elements to beach scenes.
Winners included Aleah Varga, Chloe Varga, Kayla Varga, Mia Varga, Tabitha Varga, Timothy Varga, Elway Nichols, Shelby Munds, Henry Hunteman, Andrew AyCock, Aylan Aycock, Rlyan Aycock, Zoe Aycock, Noah Kim, Leah Kim and Nikko Henry. They were honored during the school's morning assembly on Friday, Dec. 14, after students sang a series of Christmas carols.
River Mill Librarian Laura Frazey, who coordinated the activity, thought it was valuable for families to work together on the project.
