Real Deal Grocery opens in Estacada
As the name suggests, Real Deal Grocery is dedicated to connecting its customers to bargains.
The discount store at 214 S.E. Highway 224 was previously known as River Market. It was purchased by Eric Moorhouse and Steve Miller in September and now carries everything from dairy and snacks to desserts and balloons.
"We're steadily trying to get more products," said Felicia Malkson, sister of the owners. "We've added more everyday items."
Additionally, the store offers locally grown beef from Miller's cows.
The family has another store by the same name in Molalla and are happy to have expanded to Estacada.
"Once we got the manpower, we decided it was time (to open an additional store)," Malkson said.
As a discount store, some of Real Deal's products may be close to the expiration date.
"We offer in-store credit if it wasn't what you expected," Malkson said. "If something is brought back, we check the other products. We like people to check in with us so we can fix the problem."
The store's team is glad to be able to serve Estacada residents.
"We're trying to bring affordable things to the community. That's what we did in Molalla, and they really appreciated it," she said. "If people are living paycheck to paycheck, they can find more things."
