Middle school event showcases science
Have you ever wondered how font affects eyesight or if sour candy influences test scores?
The answers to these questions and many more were on display at the second annual Estacada Middle School science night on Thursday, May 30.
The evening featured student projects, activities and demonstrations. Participants dissected frogs, created slime, raced aluminum foil boats and worked with robots. Demonstrations included the effect of mixing two compounds together.
Attendees also browsed through student science projects that answered a variety of questions, including the effect of light and dark on eye pupil size, which video games result in the strongest reaction time and how the vision of athletes compared to that of non-athletes.
