More than 20 Austin-Healey vehicles rolled into Estacada during a new event in the community.
On Saturday, June 22, the Austin-Healey Club of Oregon brought 22 of their cars to Broadway Street and visited local merchants, including The Mason Jar, Spiral Gallery, Mossy Rock, Clackamas River Growlers and Yo Treats. T-shirts were available for purchase at the event, which raised $300 for the Estacada Area Food Bank.
"The merchants were incredible and so hospitable to us on this event and was received so well by the Austin-Healey Club of Oregon that we may make this an annual event," said Gary Mengis, a member of the group.
Austin-Healey was a British sports car manufactured through an alliance of the Austin division of the British Motor Corporation and the Donald Healey Motor Company. They were produced between 1952 and 1972 and are now considered highly prized and sought after by car collectors.
