Concert series continues with the Red Hots
During a recent evening at Wade Creek Park, children swung on monkey bars and community members munched on hamburgers and hot dogs as the sounds of live music filled the air.
The second iteration of Estacada's new summer concert series brought The Red Hots to the stage at the park at 747 N.W. Wade St. The R&B group, which consists of Cindy Michelle, Silky Meyer, Kurk Braint and Bob Ferrante, played a variety of songs, including "Lovely Day" by Bill Withers, "Son of a Preacher Man" by Dusty Springfield and "Take Me to the River" by Al Green.
Meanwhile, members of the Estacada Boosters Club barbequed food to fundraise for the high school's music program.
The free concert series began last month with a performance by O Brother and will conclude with Cherish Nunnally playing from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 21.
