Section of Clackamas River temporarily closes to boaters
A section of the Clackamas River near the Faraday Powerhouse has been temporarily closed to recreational boating because of construction.
Portland General Electric is building a new powerhouse to replace the historic structure along the river, and the in-water use of heavy machinery poses a risk to boaters. The closure prohibits boat operations from the Cazadero Dam to a point 100 feet downstream of the Faraday Powerhouse.
The area will reopen to boaters again in January 2020.
