College finishes auto building expansion
Automotive students at Clackamas Community College are now learning in a renovated and larger space.
The recent expansion added 12,600 square feet of shop, storage and classroom space to the school's Oregon City Campus. College leaders will host a grand opening ceremony with a tour of the area at 3:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 31, in Barlow Hall, 19600 Molalla Ave.
Along with providing new facilities for students pursuing automotive degrees and certificates, the expansion also doubles the space for the college's high school program.
The $5.7 million project was funded through a $90 million bond measure that voters approved in November 2014.
"CCC now has the room needed to explore opportunities to continue to grow and expand our programs, increasing the number of graduates who are ready to enter the automotive industry," said Cynthia Risan, CCC dean of Technology, Applied Science and Public Services.
