Participants shine at prom-like gathering
Memories were made during a recent event at Estacada First Baptist Church.
On Friday, Feb. 7, the church hosted Estacada's first Night to Shine, an evening sponsored by the Tim Tebow Foundation that connects people with special needs, ages 14 and older, with a prom experience. Attendees from Estacada and beyond were in attendance, and many local community members assisted during the event. Churches across the world also hosted gatherings.
Night to Shine was launched by the Tim Tebow Foundation in 2014. In its inaugural year, more than 7,000 attendees were honored at 44 host churches. Last year, 100,000 guests were celebrated at 655 host churches.
"Every town, every village, every state, every country needs a Night to Shine for their special-needs community — a chance to be a part of something significant and life-changing...and to be blessed
in the process," said Tim Tebow, founder of the Tim Tebow Foundation, in a news release.
