An Estacada mainstay has served its last customer.

On Wednesday, April 15, owners of the Mason Jar Cafe announced on Facebook that the business would close permanently. The cafe had been temporarily closed since Wednesday, March 18, because of the COVID-19 outbreak.

"Thank you to all who have supported us over this journey. But our time has come to an end," the announcement said. "We have come to know so many wonderful people and we will miss serving you and having conversation with you, but we do hope to see you around town in the future."

Dede Brittle and her family opened the cafe at 360 S. Broadway St., in 2015. Since then, it's been home to live music, classes and a variety of other events.

Within one day of being posted, the announcement of the closure had received more than 100 comments from the cafe's patrons thanking those who made the Mason Jar a community gathering place.

The Mason Jar's furniture and equipment are for sale. Those interested in purchasing them should call 971-404-8877 or message the cafe's Facebook page.

"We do not know what the future holds for us, but we anticipate good things," Brittle wrote.
