Drinkwine re-elected as Estacada mayor
Election results indicate that Sean Drinkwine will continue to serve as mayor of Estacada.
Results updated Thursday, Nov. 12, show Drinkwine garnered 1,502 votes, or 80.24%. The same update tallied 370 votes, or 19.76%, as write-in.
Nicole Gardner Austin was is running on a write-in campaign. Initial election results tally votes for all write-in candidates as "write-in." If the count for a specific candidate is statistically significant, the name will be included in the certified results released on Monday, Nov. 23.
Compared to tonight's results, there were 21 write-in votes in the 2016 Estacada mayoral election, during which there were no candidates running on a write-in platform.
"It speaks for itself that people stood up and gave me their confidence," Drinkwine said, citing safe and healthy growth, jobs and the local economy as important priorities. "I want to thank all the citizens of Estacada for their support. I wouldn't be able to do this job if it weren't for the people."
