Though the traditional Estacada Veterans Day Parade did not occur because of the COVID-19 pandemic, several community members traveled through town paying tribute to those who served.

On Wednesday, Nov. 11, Amber Haggstrom and Alisha Behrens held American flags as they traveled on horseback from Estacada High School to the Estacada Veterans Memorial.

After Haggstrom and Behrens arrived at the Veterans Memorial, children from Lesa Haggstrom's daycare center learned about who the memorial represents.

"(The best part) was all of the smiles we got from veterans. We got a lot of waves and thankyous," Amber Haggstrom said. "We did it to remember all of the veterans who have fought and fallen."
