Crews from Clackamas Fire District No. 1 battled one acre of flames along Highway 224, Wednesday, April 21..

Around 4:30 p.m., firefighters were dispatched to a report of a brush fire near Highway 224 and Southeast 232nd Drive in Barton.

According to Clackamas Fire, firefighters began an initial attack and quickly knocked down the blaze. They placed a wet line around the fire stopping it from spreading to other nearby trees and underbrush.

No homes or structures were lost during the incident.

Crews remained on the scene through the night to ensure that all hot spots were out. Fire investigators are determining the cause of the incident. Smoke is expected to be in the area for the next several days.
