Students from The Clackamas Print, the news organization at CCC, also won awards in the two-year school category for their website, review writing, headline writing and column writing.

The awards were presented by the Oregon Newspaper Publishers Association via Zoom at the annual Collegiate Day held May 7.

Dozens of students from Oregon colleges and universities took part in the virtual awards presentation.

"I'm so proud of our newspaper and all the staff that I have had the honor of working with for the past two years," said Laura Canida, editor-in-chief of The Clackamas Print. "Our staff is so creative and hardworking. Since the pandemic, everyone has stepped up and created some wonderful online work. It's been an honor to be a part of this great team. I've enjoyed watching everyone grow, and I can't wait to see what this next year brings."

Print staff also won a second-place award for their coverage of COVID as well as a third-place award for coverage of the 2020 Portland protests.
