Estacada group hosts Community Service Sundays
Members of Estacada Community Watch plan to spend their Sundays helping their neighbors.
The group has launched Community Service Sunday, during which they help fellow Estacada residents with yard work and other projects. Volunteers on Sunday, Sept. 26, included Dona-Rae Simmons, Siphat Simons, Scott Adams, Shirley Pickens, Frank Pickens, Joyce Burkeen, Bryan Short, Tony Long-Drew, Lena Long-Drew, Don Allen Jr., Rylea Litkie, Joel Litkie and Brandy Litkie.
Additionally, the group built a fence for a neighbor who needed it. Selix Fence and Construction LLC donated half the boards for the project.
"Board member Bryan Short put in a ton of hours to get this project finished and it turned out gorgeous," said Brandy Litkie, president of Estacada Community Watch.
"We are passionate about helping our community and uniting our town with love for our neighbor. Our community service days are full of laughter and true joy of service. There is always room for more volunteers to help and get the experience of making a difference in someone's life," Litkie said.
