Apply for free rain boots

Free rain boots are available for many children through Clackamas County Make a Splash program, and pickup locations include the Estacada library.

To qualify for boots, the child must be younger than 6 and residing in Clackamas County. The family must have an annual income at or below the federal poverty level; qualify for an income assistance program such as Oregon Trail Card, SNAP, Oregon Health Plan, Section 8, WIC, Free/reduced school lunch, TANF, Head Start/Early Head Start or Preschool Promise; or a foster family.

Openings available on city committees

The city of Estacada is seeking applicants for the Estacada Parks & Recreation Commission, Estacada Area Arts Commission, Estacada Infrastructure Committee, Estacada Budget Committee and the Downtown Estacada Commission.

Each of the groups has multiple vacancies. Some must be filled by people living within Estacada city limits, but others can be filled by those living within the Estacada School District boundaries or the Estacada Urban Growth Boundary. One opening on the Downtown Estacada Commission must be filled by a resident, business owner or property owner in the city.

Applications for the Arts commission are due by Wednesday, Nov. 24, so applicants can be interviewed at the Dec. 1, Arts Commission meeting where a recommendation will be forwarded to the City Council. All other applications must be received by 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 1.
