The writer agrees with Mark Shull's opposition to new fees and supports his 'rule of law' approach to governance.

Recently I met Mark Shull, candidate for Clackamas Commission. He mentioned four things that combine to make America: Judeo-Christian values; the Declaration of Independence, which states our rights come from our creator, not our government; our U.S. Constitution; and The rule of law.

This guy has it right, I thought. So I checked him out. Retired Lieutenant Colonel, Bronze Star. Impressive.

What's his platform?

Some highlights: He won't initiate programs unless citizens definitely want them. He opposes and will reject new regulations, fees and new "creative" ways for the government to take our money over our objections. He quotes Thomas Jefferson, "To compel a man to furnish funds for the propagation of ideas he disbelieves and abhors is sinful and tyrannical..

He supports construction of new and the improvement of old roads. And, he's a law and order kind of guy.

Perfect. He thinks like I do. He's a man on a mission. Given his military record, and now as a commissioner.

At the conclusion of his term I fully believe he will report to us, "mission accomplished."

I heartily encourage you to join me and vote for Mark Shull, position 4, Clackamas County Commission.
