A variety of bands will soon take the stage during an event at Promontory Park.
The third annual DJ Jonny Blaze River Fest is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, July 6, at the marina at 40600 S.W. Highway 224. The day will feature artists performing in genres from hip hop and rock to pop and classical.
Bands will include It's Denny, Dfmanz, Tilly and the Flowers, Pariah's Exeplar, Danit Chetron, Yikes and the Shin, Trevor McCord, The Arbor, Rich James, The Rise The Fall, Ground Up Studios, Washer Dryer, Maria Shim, Pontiak Knights, Fahari and Midnight Highway.
Along with music, the festival will feature numerous activities, including kayak and miniature paddle boat races, a giant water balloon fight and boxing on the water. There will also be cotton candy, snow cones and a variety of other foods to enjoy. Batman and Smokey Bear are also expected to make appearances.
Along with these activities, the day will also include anti-bullying and suicide prevention speakers.
Event organizer Harlan Brosa, also known as DJ Jonny Blaze, encouraged anyone interested to stop by the festival.
"The biggest part is that it's going to be family friendly," he said.
Additional sponsors of the event include KO-core USA and MTI/Cedar Scape Construction.
