Family, history, art and a love for Estacada all came together in the city's latest Artback mural, a piece created by community members who grew up with the group.
Francesca Bryk, Mesa Pivirotto and Sage Pivirotto are all children of founding members of The Artback, the group that is responsible for the murals around Estacada. They are also the creators of "The Natural World," a new mural on the Dollar General building at 416 S. Broadway St.
"We're lifelong friends," Bryk said, describing the trio as the second generation of Artback artists. "It's been really amazing to experience working on this."
They worked on the project during the week of Oct. 5.
The mural — which is the first in Estacada to not depict people — follows the artistic style of tarot cards.
"We wanted to include animals, and objects that are symbolic of the Pacific Northwest," Sage Pivirotto said.
"It feels really cool. It's exciting to bring something new to down," Bryk added.
Other members of The Artback are happy about the project.
"They rescued the summer for us. They really stepped up to the plate," said Artback member Nolene Triska.
