The Rangers finish third in league, go on the road for Fridays play-in qualifier

Estacada’s football team ended the regular season with back-to-back wins after blowout out visiting Madras 48-25 on Friday night.

The Rangers were up 28-0 after Brandon Beck found the end zone from 7 yards out on the team’s opening drive of the second half.

“We got off to a great start and were moving the ball really well,” Rangers coach Andy Mott said. “We knew coming out for the second half that was going to be an important drive.”

Fellow running back Alec Barstad highlighted the first half with a 70-yard TD run.

The win put Estacada (3-6) third in the Tri-Valley League and sends them to No. 4 Ridgeview (8-1), a second year school in Redmond, for a play-in qualifier game at 7 p.m. Friday.

The Ravens only loss was a two-point defeat against Klamath Union in the second week of the season.

“They are a new school, so there are a lot of questions, but we know they are a talented team,” Mott said. “It we can execute what we’ve done these past couple weeks, it will give us a chance Friday night.”
