CLACKAMAS — Estacada's 14U softball team played from behind the whole game, but eventually chased down Gladstone to earn a rare 9-9 tie in the third-place game at the Clackamas County end-of-season tournament Sunday.

Trailing 7-4 heading into the bottom of the fifth inning, the Rangers battled back with three runs to force extra innings after Lauren Reed connected for two-out single through the middle.

Gladstone scored twice in the seventh, but once again the Rangers rallied to tie the game on a Lizzie Smith fly ball to center field.

Tournament officials called the game a draw at 9-9 with the sun dropping below the horizon.

"It was awesome to see them get inspired and bring the bats to life," Rangers head coach Rob Anders said. "These players turned in a lot of hard work during the season."

The Rangers topped the regular season standings with an 11-1 league record.
