The Rangers hold Crook County silent at the end of the half to gain the lead for good

The Estacada girls basketball team rode into Prineville on Wednesday night and came away with a 49-37 win against Crook County in the opening game of the Tri-Valley Conference season.

A steal by Karlye Nakashimada led to a basket by Isabelle Hagel and the Rangers had an 18-15 lead. Crook County didn't score the remainder of the period as the Rangers scored the final 10 points of the period to pull out to a 22-15 halftime lead.

The Rangers continued to control the game in the second half, using offensive rebounds to get second chance points and get to the free throw line.

Estacada made 13 of 26 (.500) free throws in the game.

Estacada (4-11) hosts Molalla (7-9) at 7 pm. Friday.
