Justin Drury and Draco Yandell come away with weight-class titles at Regionals

PAMPLIN MEDIA: LON AUSTIN - Estacada senior Justin Drury keeps a grasp on Tillamooks Austin Weeks on his way to a 4-1 decision in the 152-pound title bout. MOLALLA — The Estacada wrestling team crowned a pair of champions in seniors Justin Drury and Draco Yandell at Saturday's 4A Region 1 tournament.

Drury pinned his first three opponents before scoring a 4-1 decision over Tillamook's Austin Weeks in the 152-pound title bout.

Yandell ran through his 182-pound bracket in similar fashion, spending barely a minute on the mat to dispatch his first two opponents. He pinned Crook County's Jaxson Rhoden in the third period of the semifinals before picking up a 20-5 technical fall over Tillamook's Fabian Niemi in the finals.

Also making it to state for the Rangers is heavyweight Hunter Gotchall, who won a technical fall in the consolation bracket to earn fourth place.

The state tournament begins Friday at Memorial Coliseum in Portland. Drury is the No. 4 seed at his weight class, while Yandell is a No. 3 seed.
