The Rangers score first-place points in 14 events, including a sweep of all four relay races

PAMPLIN MEDIA GROUP - Estacada's Logan Stamm lands in the long jump pit. The Estacada boys and girls track team swept the team titles at Saturday's Small-School Invitational.

The girls team piled up 224 points to come in more than 90 points ahead of runner-up Southwest Christian.

Stepanka Erbertova won the 800-meter race I 2 minutes, 24.36 seconds and the 1,500 in 5:01.71, crossing through the finish line before anyone else had started down the final straightaway in both races. Pia Schwenke added a runner-up finish in the 3,000. The Rangers got second-place finishes across all of the sprints with Cheyenne Kelly in the 100, Danielle New in the 200 and Rosie Shaver in the 400.

In the field events, Makaelyn Jennings won the discus with a throw of 80 feet, and the shot put at 30-0.5. Emma Stamm won the javelin (94-9), and New came in second in the long jump.

The boys team scored 219.5 points to beat runner-up Vernonia by more than 100.

Estacada filled three of the top four spots in the 800, with Justin Kavanagh winning the race in 2:11.04. Adam Griffith won the 1,500 (4:42.43) and 3,000 (10:28.16) races. Cam Hegar was second in the 100 and 200.

Estacada filled the top four spots in the triple jump led by Calvin Dryden with a winning leap of 36 feet, 4.5 inches, while teammate David Stamm was a half-inch back.

Stamm led the throwing events with a win in the javelin at 158-9, while Alex Hohman was second in the discus.
