Estacada was hoping to make their senior night special. Madras, however, had other plans.
Jackie Zamora-Heath had a pair of goals on the night as Madras spoiled Estacada's season finale by beating the Rangers 3-0 on Tuesday, October 24.
Zamora-Heath wasted little time giving her team the early lead. In the fifth minute of the game, the senior forward got a great angle on her run down the right side and then fired a shot to the opposite corner of the net for the score.
"We talked before the game about coming out strong and putting to them immediately," Madras head coach Shawn Darrow said. "We knew if we let (Estacada) get too much confidence, bad things were going to happen."
Estacada wouldn't get their first real opportunity until midway through the first half. Audrey Walter sent a ball over the heads of the Madras back line to Hayven Richardson, who was making a break for the box.
Even though Richardson had a clean shot at the net, the ball went off the side of her foot and was easily saved by Madras keeper Cheydon Herkshan.
The Rangers would have another chance in the 30th minute. This time, it was Richardson that found Walter with a great pass up the sideline. Walter gathered the ball and fired towards the net, but her shot sailed way over the post.
Walter's last good opportunity to score came in the early stages of the second half, but it was from a poor angle and the ball flew outside the post.
