Estacada's Minor National baseball team went 4-1 at the county playoffs, winning the tournament title by taking two of three games against Corbett in what amounted to the weekend's championship series.
The Rangers won the decisive game against Corbett 16-10, hitting the five-run maximum in three of the first four innings.
"It came down to all the boys hitting well and our defense was on," Estacada manager Ben Wheeler said.
Estacada pitcher Roane Brody came on in relief to get the final two outs, striking out the last one to secure the title.
The Rangers opened the tournament with a win over host Silverton, and followed that by knocking off top seeded Country Christian before heading into its matchups with Corbett.
"The boys played good baseball the whole tourney and just kept it together," Wheeler said.
Other members of the championship team are Kallen Davis, Jacob Duke Durand, Brayden Frazey, Kaden Gentamann, Matthew Greenup, Zachary Grund, Carter Hamilton, Zander Hulsey, Grant Leavenworth and Hank Wheeler.
The team advances to the Minors state tournament Friday through Sunday at North Clackamas Park in Milwaukie.
Estacada's Junior National team finished second in its county tournament after a 17-8 loss to Corbett in the championship game. The Rangers broke out to an 8-3 lead only to see Corbett rush back for the win.
Estacada is one of three teams to advance to the state tournament in Lebanon this weekend.
