Wrestlers finish second at home tournament

Estacada's wrestling team saw three wrestlers walk away with weight-class titles during Saturday's Ranger Classic home tournament.
Cody Hovda won the 152-pound bracket, pinning his first-round opponent in less than a minute. He went on to outscore his next three foes by a combined count of 19-8, including a 7-2 win over La Grande's Braxton Bisenius in the final.
Sam Garrison won the 170-pound title, turning back his biggest challenge in his first action of the day — an 11-7 decision over Molalla's Hunter Beck in the quarterfinals. He picked up a quick pin in the semis, and scored a 15-3 major decision over Rainier's David Katon for the title.
Nico Winsor went 4-0 to claim the 220-pound bracket, knocking off Seaside's Luke Nelson 6-2 in the finale. He needed a total of 2:07 to pin his quarterfinal and semifinal foes.
Landin Vittetoe was runner-up at 126 pounds, while Tucker Jackson (132), Caleb McDonald (145) and James Durand (182) won third-place bouts.
Estacada scored 193 points to finish second out of 11 teams. La Grande won the team title with 202 points.
