The Estacada boys basketball team went on a first-half run, but could not chase down Madras in a 50-38 loss last Tuesday.

The White Buffaloes rushed out to a 13-2 lead when Estacada went on an eight-point scoring spurt thanks to back-to-back 3-pointers by Eli Crombie. The Rangers cut the Madras lead down to three.

Estacada managed only five points in the second quarter, and Madras took a 24-15 lead into halftime.

Niko Snyder tried to spark the Rangers by scoring on a fast break to start the third quarter, but Madras responded with Donnie Bagley hitting a 3-pointer, then stealing the inbounds pass and putting a layup off the glass.

The White Buffaloes would maintain a double-digit margin the rest of the way.

Jordan Mitchell scored on a drive through the lane to give the Rangers' one last gap down 14 as the clock ticked under five minutes.

But once again, Bagley had the answer, coming out of a timeout and finding Dapri Miller cutting through the lane for a layup. Bagley hit a pair of free throws on the team's next trip to put the game out of reach 48-30.

Bagley finished with a game-high 27 points.

Estacada's Nate Hagel hit a pair of 3s down the stretch, but Madras was patient on the offensive end to run out the remaining time. Hagel led the Rangers with 11 points, while Isaiah Schaffer added eight.
