VOLLEYBALL

Jesuit won the showdown with Central Catholic, 3-1, on Tuesday, finishing the match with dominating games: 25-17, 20-25, 25-9, 25-7. The Crusaders (14-0) also topped Canby and West Linn this week; they beat the Lions, 3-0, by scores of 27-25, 25-12, 25-17.

Jesuit lost four sets all season.

On Monday, West Linn topped Central Catholic 3-1, by scores of 25-17, 25-14, 24-26, 25-16. The Rams finished 11-2.

CROSS COUNTRY

PIL

Charlie Robertson of Franklin won the PIL district meet boys race at Pier Park last weekend, finishing the 5,000 meters in 15:17.40, ahead of Giuliano Scasso of Wells (15:27.70), teammate Charlie North (15:28.80) and Mateo Althouse of Lincoln (15:29.70).

Franklin claimed five of the top nine spots and scored 27 points to 44 for second-place Lincoln.

Charlotte Richman of Wells continued her domination in 2021 with a victory in the PIL girls race. She won the 5,000 in 18:05.10, way ahead of Franklin's Autumn Ost (18:20.10) and Kaiya Robertson (18:33.20) and teammate Sylvia Ingram (18:36.00). Wells had 39 points to edge Lincoln (44) and Franklin (45).

Mt. Hood Conference

The Barlow boys and Clackamas girls shined during the Mt. Hood cross country district meet Thursday, hosted by Centennial High School.

In the 5,000-meter boys race, it was a pair of Bruins who took the top spots. Senior Evan Delacruz won the meet with a time of 16:45.60, followed closely by junior teammate Parker Waugh, 16:51.30.

Rounding out the boys' top-five were: junior Cole Lewis, Clackamas, 17:16.20; sophomore Braydon Lee, Barlow, 17:36.20; and junior Luke Lehman, Centennial, 17:40.40.

The Barlow boys won the team competition (32 points) followed by Clackamas (46) and Reynolds (82).

Clackamas junior Jasmine Fletcher won the 5,000-meter girls race in 21:21.70. Following her were: junior Emily Powers, Barlow, 21:32.30; sophomore Alyssa Stumbo, Barlow, 21:36.80; freshman Madeline Pizzuti, Clackamas, 21:58.50; and freshman Zoe Vanderwal, Central Catholic, 22:05.40.

The Clackamas girls won the meet (38) closely followed by Barlow (40) and Central Catholic (45).
